Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), established on October 23, 1954, is a state university in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. With a vision to become a leading university in Asia, UNP has produced over 31,139 graduates of sterling character, who are determined to push the boundaries of innovation and improve the quality of life and welfare of the community.
Formerly under the name IKIP Padang (Padang Teachers Training and Education Institute), UNP consists of 9 faculties, namely the Faculty of Education (FIP), Faculty of Language and the Arts (FBSS), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Faculty of Social Science (FIS), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Sport Science (FIK), Faculty of Economics (FE), Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism and Faculty of Pascasarjana.
MonsoonSIM would also like to warmly welcome Muthia Roza Linda, SE. MM, the Head of the Business Simulation Laboratory of the Faculty of Economics at UNP, in joining the ranks of MonsoonSIM facilitators worldwide. With her expertise in the field of operational management and her extensive research and publications on work environment, performance motivation and more, Muthia Roza Linda is certainly a valued addition to our MonsoonSIM family.
UNP had started working together with MonsoonSIM to deliver quality education and learning for students in the Faculty of Economics department since July 2020. With just over a year, this invaluable cooperation has bolstered the DIII FE UNP program, namely in Trade Management, Accounting and Tax Management. The Business Simulation lectures itself, which actively uses MonsoonSIM as the teaching platform, guides the students and further prepares them for upcoming challenges, such as taking the SAP Fundamental Competency Exam.
When asked of the results of integration MonsoonSIM into UNP’s curriculum, Muthia Roza Linda, SE. MM, has stated, “For DIII graduates of the Faculty of Economics, UNP, MonsoonSIM is a means of informing graduates to the world of work. Graduates of DIII FE UNP can now be familiar with and able to carry out company business processes using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.”
The motto of UNP itself, “Alam Takambang Jadi Guru”, which translates to “Learn from Nature”, means that the scholars of UNP is always responsive and proactive to the environment. This fits well with the learning method proposed by the MonsoonSIM business simulation and gamification education platform, which heavily emphasizes on experiential learning. This is learning by doing, experimenting, interacting and exploring, where students can apply the knowledge and concepts they’ve learnt in class towards real-life situations and issues. UNP students can have both more experience and exposure to the real business environment and gain applicational knowledge on its inner workings, virtually in the classroom or anywhere else with MonsoonSIM.
